Six Reason why I love my Job

A month ago I was filling out an application for a membership to the Jewish Community Center for our family. It asked for my job description. I put "Domestic Goddess". It made the lady helping me laugh so hard. It made me chuckle too. I saw her the other day while I was at Zumba and she said "How's the Domestic Goddess today"? I really do love being at home with my kids. It is my most important work. I find it a privilege. But I have always personally hated the term "homemaker" that's what contractors are!
Mother's Day is coming up and it makes me think about how lucky I am everyday. Thanks Family...you are the best. You make life Sweet!

Top Ten Thurs.

Things I love right now...
1. That Sierra and Dillon came home with straight A Report Cards. They are dedicated to their homework  and learning. I am so proud of them.
2. The smell of banana nut muffins in the air. Yum.
3. Easton telling me four times a day "I love you too much to argue". He must hear that a lot!
4. Watching Easton and Anna take their first ponny rides. They were smiling for hours.
5. Bounce dryer sticks. It makes laundry a little more pleasant.
6. That I have given up....tanning beds.
7. Eating jelly beans for breakfast.
8. Reading my itinerary for Moscow and St. Petersburg. Russia's high speed night train to St. Petersburg.
St. Isaac's Cathedral and the Catherine Palace are going to be my favorites.

Easter Sunday

This Sunday was Special.
Ben received his new calling at church. He is now in the young mens program. I received mine as well in the primary teaching the 5 yr. olds. There are eight of them! We have lots of fun.
 Anna with her eggs

 Sydney with her eggs
Getting ready to hunt the front yard for money filled eggs
 Dillon after his hunt
Ben and Michelle

Ben and I had the privilege of speaking in Sacrament Meeting. There really wasn't a better place to be than at church giving thanks to God for his Son's Atonement. Our topic was on Faith in Jesus Christ. I really enjoyed listening to Ben. The primary also sang a great Easter Song. Then we came home to Easter Ham, mash potatoes and green beans with hot rolls. It was a great day all around. About five years ago we started  Celebrating "Easter Bunny Saturday" and  "Resurrection Easter Sunday". Our kids say all the fun happens on Saturday and then we do the Church stuff on Sunday. I hope as they get older they see the importance of Sunday's.  Above are pictures from the "Easter Bunny Saturday".

Happy Earth Day and Good Friday!

Just a few of my favorite Trees...

Top Ten Thurs.

Ten Things I did with my Time:

1. Took a Trip to Old Navy for Ian. The boy won't stop growing.
2. Made a "Picnic" for Easton and Anna to eat out on the lawn. The simplest things can make you so happy.
3. Delivered a Return to the post office. Picked up Pizza for dinner. When it was right next door to the post office who can resist!
4. Easton and Anna Talked to Grandpa and Grandma. Can you picture him in 15 years on his cell phone?
5. Helped Anna with her homework and reading.
6. Made yummy sugar cookies for Saturday's Easter Bunny Celebration.

7. Helped Sierra and Dillon with more homework.

8. Couldn't resist driving through one of my favorite neighborhoods. Can you imagine the HOA fees?
9. Served  Dillon's favorite snack after school.
10. Had scripture time and prayer for 15 minutes before everyone rushed out the door for school.
What's your favorite thing to do on Thurs.?

Top Ten Thurs.

  1. I didn't make dinner or clean-up. This doesn't happen often.
  2. That I caught a nap today. This is also rare.
  3. I had three friends over for lunch and a chat.
  4. I found a red rose on my pillow when I went to bed. Ben is out of town so that could of been too hard to pull off. It was Sydney...she just wanted me to feel special! Love her.
  5. I battled the squat machine and I won. 160 lbs. feels like the world.
  6. Made chocolate covered strawberries for afternoon snack. They are a spring favorite around here.
  7. Realized I am going to Russia in 30 days!
  8. I am enjoying having the Kansas Star Newspaper delivered. Reading the morning news in the morning is a little fun.
  9. Buying a breakfast tray at Pier 1. Maybe my family will need it for Mother's Day! wink wink.
  10. Easton choosing to kiss me goodnight the "long way". The forehead, nose, ears, cheeks, chin, forehead again, eyes and then mouth. Love him too!

Announcing ABC Dental

So, you may be wondering what I have been doing on the weekends, while the kids are at school and after they are in bed and a few hours every morning before they wake up. I have been helping get ABC Dental up and running. Unpacking, cleaning decorating. Buying furniture. Finding staff members. Training. Bring in food. Finding a microwave. Getting used toys and books. Ordering bookshelves and office supplies. You get the idea!
So may I introduce you to one of my best works of art yet!
ABC DENTAL
1619 Independence Hwy
Independence, Mo.
816-461-0055

I designed the logo on paper and then we take it to the sign guy
It looks better than I expected.

The waiting room chairs were FREE!  Shhhhh.

Less Yellow on the walls. More blue and red with a small
wall of yellow. The carpet and tile look good. I couldn't
remember the colors I had chosen a few months ago...but, they
worked out.
I am really happy with my "garage art"
Do you like it?

I went to a children's consignment store for the toys and books.
I spent 100.00 and came out with a trunk full of
toys and books. I can't decided who is cuter, the monkey or
the zebra?
This cart was a combined effort between Ben and myself.
It also was designed in the garage.
PVC+ Spray paint+ glass+ rollers= Nice delivery cart
We were really proud of this one!

These dental chairs were ugly betty's! Now they are
functional for our office. Three of them for 200.00.
New dental chairs...1,200.00 to 4,000.00 a piece!
Not at ABC DENTAL!

Dr. Wilson now needs patients to treat!

Happy April

Happiness makes up in Height
What it lacks in
Length

Don't You Love this fussy little bunny?
He makes me happy.
I discovered this string of eggs
at Hobby Lobby. Then I added
ribbons. I like green pock-a-dots
on brown.

Just a "before" and "after"

This is before...

This is after!
I love the bold blue. The curtains were a 12.00
shower curtain from Target. Cut down the middle and
made into pretty curtains. I love the picture of the Sea.
We love the Pacific Ocean in our house. We did
visit Cape Cod, and we liked it too!

Adding a mirror is like adding
an other window to the room. A secret
I learned from designers.
The ottoman...priced at 400.00. I paid only 95.00.
The legs were in need of a small repair.

I love how the mirrors and lamps reflex light at night.

Put pieces in the room that bring you great memories.
I clustered some pictures of the boys.
Also, a sea shell from Hawaii. Who does have great
memories from there?
 Thanks for viewing! Happy Decorating!
What is your favorite part of decorating?
Mine is seeing it all come together....on the cheap!
