Orange Glow

We staged our pumpkin carving on the back porch.
The creativity was amazing.

Wishing you a spooktacular Weekend!

The Blessing

Starting my day with a walk is truly a blessing.
Sometimes I meet girlfriends. Other times I walk alone.
I can think so clearly when I walk.
This is a view
of my path....

I hope this inspires you to get out
and count your blessings.

Top Ten Thurs.

Ten spooktacular happenings:

  1. That my 6th grader still blows me kisses as she gets out of the car for school. Lucky me.
  2. I'm four chapters away from finishing Dracula and just want to wait because I am enjoying it so much...weird I know.
  3. Excited to spend four days off from school. We are going to have FUN.
  4. Candy Cane tea is back at the grocery store...gonna make some tonight and sit  in front of the fireplace.
  5. I get to wear a rain coat and boots today. I never got to do that in Colorado. Looking forward to the fog and a sloppy raining day. Its the little things that make a girl happy.
  6. I'm looking forward to getting to know the teachers at the school a little bit better tonight for 2hrs. tomorrow night for 1 hr. So interesting to hear what they have to say at teacher conferences.
  7. I have the ingredients to make homemade apple pies this weekend....the question is if I will do it. We will see.
  8. The cough and running nose that have takin up home in my body for the last six weeks really is starting to get annoying. Is there a replacement mom or clone to fill in? NO.
  9. I'm dreading the sugar high my kids will be on next week already...give me strength to endure Halloween!
  10. Feeling so excited to meet six of my girl friends in Denver for Lion King. I can't wait to see them and have some good old fashioned girl time. I love these girls.

Weekend in Nauvoo

Ben and I went on a road trip. We travelled with six young boys from our church.
They made me laugh. We had a lot of fun with them.
We took a wagon ride, had a bon fire by the Mississippi and were
able to visit the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter Day Saints Temple in Nauvoo. This is the place where
my ancestors pledged their faith to this religion. It is where they left
everything to move west to settle in Salt Lake City, Utah. Some of my ancestors
died before completing this journey. The one thing I'm sure of is
that I come from a long line of
strong blood and faith in God.

Going On A Pumpkin Hunt

Top Ten Thurs.

Ten Things I'm Thinking...

  1. Mums remind me of the day I brought home baby Easton from the hospital.  My mom had placed two lovely red mums by the front doors. Today I place them there wishing my mom could visit and see them. Easton, now six, helps me water them for 50 cents.
  2. Pumpkin Bread with hot cocoa for breakfast sounds yummy.
  3. Having brave and courageous kids makes me one proud mama.
  4. I need to wrap up getting our costumes together. One old man, One pirate, One Ninja, One little Witch...maybe two depending upon how I feel...he he! One Hip-Hop Diva...and Dillon hasn't decided yet!
  5. That I'm really glad I didn't see the spider in the garage that Ben found. He said it was BIG!
  6. I'm looking forward to the weekend in Nauvoo, Ill. We are taking six twelve year old boys from our church there. I plan to spend some quality time with my camera.
  7. Friends Make life just a little sweeter. Thanks for the phone calls, emails and get togethers. Girls Rule.
  8. Ben left this on the mirror the other morning in the bathroom. I LOVE YOU MTAITW! Sierra and I could not figure out the "Text". He called later to say it was, more than anything in the world. We are lucky girls around here.
  9. The best things in life are very simple. Look around you.
  10. I'm starting a new book today. Anyone can join me. Dracula, my Love by Syrie James. I've read all her others. I expect it to be a fun read.

TURNS OUT...LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL

Ben and I took a trip this past weekend to Durango, Montrose and Grand Junction Colorado.
It was great to see friends and family.
We love the drive from Durango to Montrose. Highway 550.
Parts of the white line on this 11,000 foot pass actually fall off, leaving only
cliff behind. The colors in the mountains were at their best.
Turns out, life is beautiful!
