Happy Birthday Dillon!

Look who's 12!!
 Dillon Ruslan

I remember the first time we met. You were eight and shy.
We didn't speak the same language, but
we didn't need to. You see you spoke with those sweet eyes.
I soon found out how smart, funny and comical
you could be. I knew I could not live my life a day more without
 YOU
in it. I love you oldest Son.
Thanks for being in our lives.
oxoxoxo
(which you struggle to have me do anymore)
but the rule stands that if you don't let me
take my hugs and kisses you will pay the price with a full faced
tongue licking!

My five greatest accomplishments

Well, I really have six.
But, their sweet faces aside I will think of
five others.

01/
Going to Dental Hygiene School.

02/
Climbing Mount Handies Peak
in Colorado
13,000 amazing feet.

03/
Having Sweet Madness Photography featured
at a RAW Art Show
here in Kansas City

04/
Traveling to
Kazakhstan for our adoption.
(Two weeks eating horse soup and
sleeping in the orphanage, and being deported
is an accomplishment.)

05/
Being Married to One
great Mr. Wilson for
20 years this year.
Love him.

Five of my weaknesses

Endurance

Making Assumptions (It always makes me look like an #%$)

Holding a grudge too long

Interrupting others when they are speaking

Being Committed.

I recognize them and now want to work on them.
How about you?

It's Snowing Cats & Dogs

We had 7 inches of light fluffy snow in two hours last Thurs.
The kiddos loved having a "Snow Day".
Followed by another and then another.
I'm adjusting to the idea. Ben was in sunny San
Diego at a Dental Conference. I was woman alone in the suburbs.
He kept sending nice palm-tree spewn texts.
After sulking I finally EMBRACED the cold.

So we made snow caves.
We went sledding.
We played Monopoly and
scrabble and poker
and Mind craft.
We baked and cooked.
And baked some more.
We went in
and
out
and in
and
out
and
in
and
out.....

Yes, We even agreed to have them sleep in their fort.
Two of them made it all night.
Sierra & Ian.

Daisy Duke and Roscoe
really had just as much fun as the kids.
They slept really well.

It's hard for me (as an adult) to think this is much fun.
I love watching though.

Peace fellow snow cave girls.
That Sierra she is one tough cookie.
Well, they are all kind of like a gang really.
Our kids are all kinds of tough.
WE DON'T DO WHIMPY HERE.

Overall, we had some great fun. Ben did make it home.
Just in time to shovel and play.
Good Memories were made by all.
Did I mention I stayed up into the
morning hours ready a good book by the fire?
Our gas bill will be atrocious!
