Logging Hours of Fun in the Sun

If you know my husband, then you know we spent Father's Day Weekend on the water.
Hillsdale Lake in Springville Missouri.
Sierra caught a six pound cat fish.
Dillon almost stayed up on his waterski.
Fun was had by all.
Hamburgers on the grill with pepper jack cheese and all the fixings.
Fathers Day was a lot of Fun!

Sydney's Trip to the Emergency Room....

As we were relaxing at the table after dinner last Monday night Sydney stretched back in her chair....resting on two legs...and fell back hitting her head on the granite counter top. She was in a lot of shock, as was I. i wilted at the amount of blood. I am so glad Ben was home. He calmly washed her up and put an ace bandage around her head and whisked her off to the E.R. I practiced deep breathing on the couch. I wanted to go, but someone has to be mom to the other five who at the moment were injury free!  She waited a long wait and then got big staples in her head. She was very brave. She was disappointed not to be able to swim, ride her bike or rollerblade for 10 days. She is doing much better and is recovering fine at home in front of her sketch book and pastels.

My Brothers and Uncle Rod.... my family
My kids love this guy!
He does make the best homemade pizza

Happy Birthday Beautiful!

How did you get this big?
Love you my first born. I was so happy to have a girl.
Lucky me.
Your nickname is "fish". You were made for the water.
I can't remember ever being able to keep you out of it! Ever!
Have a Great Day!

School Out for Summer!

LET THE ADVENTURES BEGIN!
Popsicles become a large part of our diet. So does grilling.
We have already logged hours on the boat at the lake. "Sunburn" is the popular
color of choice. We are testing all the new water parks around Kansas City. I have to
admit with temp. of 94 degrees, we are watching more TV here also. We hardly ever
watched TV in Colorado. But it is just too dang HOT to be outside. We could melt!
We are also "hanging out at the Mall" a new adventure for all of us. Its a treat! The pool in
our neighborhood hits full capacity when the "Wilson's" show up! But we still go every other day!
We still are hitting the beach in California...Its tradition. That happens in July.
We can't wait to see our cousins. During summer break I lose the "joy of cooking". Any suggestions?
Take out all summer???? Hope you are having a great summer also!

Memories made in Moscow

This was one of the funnest trips I have had to date.
Here is the break down...
Four Girls
10 days
Two Cities
Hours of fun!

So I arrived in Moscow without my bag. It came a day after me. The good news is that my new
friend Betsy had the cutest Dansko's, and she let me borrow them.
Yes, I washed my underwear out in the sink overnight.
The Hotel in Moscow was a true American Four Star. It had nice beds and sheets.
Yummy mint Tea. Nice people who spoke the only language I know, English.
And most importantly, a nicely supplied mini bar.
I'm not a drinker...just a snacker!
Everyday was packed with interesting places and people. Lots of people going places
very fast. We rode the Metro, similar to New York Subway.
No one talks...they just stare.
"Yes I am American" is all I could think as they stared.
We tried Geogian Food. It was amazing.
Russian food....not so grand.  It could be the next diet craze.
We also had yummy Italian and their version of sushi...not fabulous.
We went to bed late...like 1 AM late and woke up early.
I'm getting to old for that stuff.
I learned the difference between tourist and vacation goer.
I did end up paying to go pee in Moscow...something I tried to avoid.
But, it was the cleanest public bathroom I probably used.
Smells are overwhelming there.
Urine, body odor, meat, smoke, old spice all within
two minutes. Susie had a hard time with this one...I loved watching her turn green!
It was the perfect time of year to visit. There were tulips everywhere.
They try hard to keep their city clean.
St. Petersburg was my favorite.
We even spent a day "in the country" in St. Petersburg. That was my
favorite day.
Can't take the country out of the girl I guess.
So thats a wrap on Russia!
